A study of the Linux operating system. The goal is to configure and manage processes, user interfaces, device files, print facilities, file systems, task automation, the boot-up/shutdown sequence, disk storage, network connectivity, system security, and users and groups. Students may receive credit for only one of the following courses: CMIT 291, CMIS 390, CMIT 391, or CMIS 398U.

AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud are compared.
